Employers will have more time to comply with some Affordable Care Act reporting deadlines.
As you know, employers who offer fully insured medical plans must file Forms 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS by Feb. 28 for paper filers and April 2 for electronic filers. (Employers with 250 or more reports to file are required to file electronically). However, employers have a bit more time to distribute the Form 1095-C to employees this year. The IRS announced that this deadline has been extended from Jan. 31, 2018, to March 2, 2018.
In many cases, your payroll company or reporting vendor handles ACA reporting, but it is still important that you verify who is responsible and take the necessary steps in order for your company to remain in compliance with the law.
