What should you do if you receive an Affordable Care Act Marketplace notification informing you that some of your employees had applied for coverage on the healthcare exchange and are eligible for a subsidy?
Consider the situation where two of the employees were offered coverage during annual enrollment while the third was not eligible due to working less than 30 hours per week during the measurement period. Even though you have your ducks in the proverbial row, you will still need to respond to show that the first two are not eligible for the subsidy due to coverage offered and the third was not eligible for employer coverage due to hours worked.
Employers will also have to address part-time employees who did not qualify as well as those who were offered coverage.
