Have you filed your taxes this year but still not received your refund? The best resource to check the status is through “Where’s My Refund” on the IRS website.

Using this online tool, taxpayers can check on the status of their return within 24 hours after the IRS receives an e-filed return or four weeks after the paper return has been mailed. The tool has a tracker that displays progress through three phases: (1) Return Received; (2) Refund Approved; and (3) Refund Sent.

The check the status of your refund, you will need to enter your Social Security number, your tax filing status (e.g., single, married, head of household), and the exact amount of the refund claimed on the return.
